Yemen: Yemen's General Traffic Police has announced a new optional system allowing vehicle owners to renew their vehicle registration cards (driving permits) for either two or three years, starting in early August.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Traffic Police said the measure is part of its traffic development plan and a broader package of reforms aimed at simplifying procedures, improving public services, and reducing the time and effort required from citizens.
The authority stated that the new system provides vehicle owners with greater flexibility in selecting the renewal period that best fits their needs. Technical and administrative preparations are underway at traffic departments and issuance centers across the governorates to ensure the smooth launch of the new system.
The Traffic Police reiterated its commitment to modernizing traffic services, enhancing operational performance, expanding service automation, and simplifying procedures in the public interest, while considering citizens' current circumstances.
