Traffic Police Launch Campaign to Clear Sanaa Streets Ahead of Eid al-Adha

Sanaa: The Traffic Police launched today a field campaign to remove all encroachments, disfiguring appearances, and causes of traffic jams in various districts of the Capital Secretariat, as part of implementing the preparation plan for the blessed Eid al-Adha. The campaign, carried out in cooperation with the Transport and Works Sector in the Secretariat, targets vital streets, enforces longitudinal parking of vehicles on roadsides, clears public roads of congestion causes, and removes scrap and dilapidated cars that obstruct traffic flow.

According to Yemen News Agency, the Director General of Traffic Police, Major General Dr. Bakeel Al Barashi, affirmed that these campaigns come as an implementation of the executive matrix of the comprehensive traffic plan, based on the directives of the Ministry of Interior leadership to develop field performance. He noted the level of coordination between relevant authorities and the growing awareness among citizens that contributed to the success of the first phase of the campaign.

He pointed out that the campaign aims to enhance traffic discipline and establish longitudinal parking to ensure the maximum efficient use of roadside spaces, thereby preserving the safety and security of everyone, restoring discipline to public roads, and facilitating citizens' movement.

Meanwhile, the Director of Traffic Police in the Capital Secretariat, Brigadier General Najeeb Al Asadi, explained that the field teams have begun organizing parking and have taken commitments and pledges from owners of establishments, commercial shops, and violators to comply with traffic rules and remove road obstacles.

He affirmed that the campaign, which will continue until Eid al-Adha, aims to create a safe traffic environment and highlight the civilized and aesthetic appearance of the capital Sanaa. He stated that 155 dilapidated cars, frames, and nets have been removed from the streets, along with 11 tons of waste and dust.
