Transport & Public Works Deputy Minister Opens Fifth Construction & Building Exhibition in Sana’a

Sana'a: Deputy Minister of Transport and Public Works, Yahya Al-Siyani, inaugurated the Fifth Construction and Building Exhibition, which commenced on Sunday. This event is organized in collaboration with the Ministries of Economy, Industry and Investment, as well as Transport and Public Works. According to Yemen News Agency, the exhibition, lasting five days, features the participation of 31 national government and private companies and factories. These entities are involved in the production of various construction materials, and the exhibition aims to promote local products within the building and construction sectors. The initiative seeks to strengthen the presence of these products in the market as viable alternatives to imported goods. During the opening, Deputy Minister Al-Siyani, accompanied by Hadhramaut Governor Luqman Baras and other sectoral officials, toured the exhibition. Officials present included Sami Maqbuli, Undersecretary for Industry and Economic Cities at the Ministry of Economy, Indus try and Investment; Engineer Ali Rajih, Undersecretary for Works at the Ministry of Transport and Public Works; and Engineer Qasim Atef, Undersecretary for Housing at the Ministry of Local Administration and Development. They viewed the array of products showcased by the 31 participating entities, which included cement and other essential construction materials. Al-Siyani underscored the importance of such exhibitions in boosting the profile of local products, emphasizing their quality and encouraging competition among producers. He highlighted the construction sector's critical role as a major economic driver, noting its support for numerous other sectors and its capacity to generate widespread employment opportunities. The Deputy Minister also remarked on the current diversification within national industries, describing it as a significant step forward in localizing industries. This development aligns with the directives of the revolutionary and political leadership and is a testament to the achievements of the September 21 Revolution.
