Bab al-mandab: The Ministry of Transport and Public Works confirmed that international maritime traffic through the Bab Al-Mandab Strait continues to operate freely, safely, and smoothly, with the exception of Saudi vessels subject to a ban.
According to Yemen News Agency, the ministry reported that 73 international vessels, including container ships and commercial vessels, transited the strait over the past 48 hours. Specifically, 36 vessels crossed on September 10 and 37 on September 11, accounting for 98.6 percent of the average daily traffic recorded before the imposition of the ban.
The ministry emphasized that these figures counter claims suggesting that international navigation through Bab Al-Mandab is in jeopardy.
