Sanaa: Players Ahmed Zayed and Adel Farhan have qualified for the final of the table tennis tournament for employees of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Youth and Sports Welfare Fund, held in honor of the Prophet's Birthday.
According to Yemen News Agency, Zayed qualified after defeating last year's runner-up, Khaled Al-Batoul, in the semi-finals in straight sets, having previously defeated Majid Al-Muallami by the same score in the knockout rounds. Farhan secured the second qualifying spot for the final by defeating Abbas Al-Madoumi in straight sets, capping off his tournament run which also included a 2-0 victory over Sadiq Al-Selawi.
In the knockout rounds, Abbas Al-Madoumi defeated Abdulrahman Al-Hattami in straight sets, and Khaled Al-Batoul defeated Essam Driban by the same score. The tournament is being held under the auspices of the Ministry of Youth, with the support of the Technical Committee for Summer Activities and Courses. The events are scheduled to continue next week with the doubles competition.
