Hamdan: Residents of Wadi'a area, Wadi Dhahr district, and the education sector in Hamdan District, Sana'a Governorate, organized two sit-ins and a student march on Monday to condemn repeated U.S. offenses against the Holy Quran, most recently the burning of a copy of the Quran.

According to Yemen News Agency, the events were attended by provincial officials Ali Zaid and Abdu Katheer. Hamdan District Director Fahd Atiya emphasized the sanctity of the Holy Quran and cautioned against repeated acts of desecration intended to provoke Muslims. Atiya warned that continued silence over such acts would encourage further attacks on Islamic sanctities.

A statement issued at the events strongly condemned the burning of Quran copies, describing it as a deliberate attack on one of the nation's holiest sanctities. The statement characterized the act as part of an ongoing campaign against Islam and Muslims, and an attempt to undermine their identity.

The statement affirmed full support for the 'siege for siege' equation and the armed forces, while calling for continued mobilization, heightened preparedness, national unity, solidarity, and efforts to protect the internal front. It also urged broad participation in activities marking the Prophet Muhammad's birth anniversary, including decorating mosques, homes, and streets, supporting charitable campaigns, and caring for poor and needy families.
