Sana'a: Two training courses for animal health knights concluded today in Ibb Governorate, with the participation of 36 trainees from the districts of Al-Makhadir and Dhi As-Sufal. The courses were funded by the Agricultural and Fisheries Projects and Initiatives Financing Unit, in coordination with the Agriculture Office and the branch of the Agricultural Cooperative Union.

According to Yemen News Agency, over 19 days, participants received theoretical and practical training in examining, diagnosing, and treating viral, bacterial, and parasitic diseases, as well as dealing with cases of mastitis, diarrhea, bloat, and indigestion. This was complemented by an eight-day field visit targeting livestock breeders in the villages.

At the conclusion, the Director of the Financing Unit, Dr. Mohammed Al-Qadri, emphasized the importance of establishing a community veterinary nucleus in rural districts to bridge the service gap and reduce losses for breeders. He noted that the livestock sector is a fundamental pillar of food security, and that agricultural financing projects embody the leadership's vision of building a self-sufficient society.

For his part, the Head of the Dhi As-Sufal Agricultural Cooperative Society, Faisal Mansour, explained that the course is part of the society's partnership with the Bonyan Foundation to empower the community in managing its own affairs. He affirmed continued support for graduates and facilitating their access to breeders in the villages, stressing that investing in local cadres ensures the sustainability of veterinary services.
