Sanaa: On this day, May 28, the US-Saudi-Emirati aggression targeted civilian homes, mosques, markets, power stations, airports, and World Food Programme warehouses, committing blatant war crimes that killed and wounded dozens.
According to Yemen News Agency, the aggression on May 28, 2015, resulted in the deaths of 20 civilians and injuries to 126 others, primarily women and children, following airstrikes on civilian homes, a gas station, a mosque, a popular market, and a vehicle transporting displaced persons in Al-Rahida District and Taiz City. Additionally, one citizen was killed, and two were injured in airstrikes on a fuel tanker at the Al-Mujbar checkpoint in Haradh District, Hajjah Governorate. The aggression also targeted a World Food Programme warehouse and a power station with airstrikes.
Further casualties occurred when a child was injured by a cluster bomb explosion in the Nashur area of Saada Governorate. Airstrikes launched 15 raids on areas including Al-Hasama, Al-Manzalah, and Shada, and shelled several border areas with artillery and missiles. In Al-Dhaher District in Saada Governorate, airstrikes targeted government buildings and markets, causing extensive damage.
The aggression continued in Aden Governorate, targeting the University of Aden presidency building, Aden International Airport, and other locations. On May 28, 2016, airstrikes targeted the Giants Brigade in Harf Sufyan District in Amran Governorate and a cement-laden truck. Additional attacks were launched in Jawf, Marib, and Taiz governorates, impacting civilians and property.
On May 28, 2017, two civilians were killed in an airstrike in Mawza' district, Taiz governorate. Airstrikes also targeted areas in Ma'rib, Sa'dah, and Sana'a governorates, with shelling impacting civilian farms and properties. The coalition's forces launched multiple airstrikes across various regions, leading to civilian casualties and damage.
By May 28, 2018, the coalition's aggression resulted in the deaths of two civilians and injuries to others in Hodeida Governorate. A US drone targeted As-Salif District, and rocket and artillery shelling caused injuries and damage in Saada Governorate. Hostile aircraft launched numerous airstrikes across multiple districts, increasing the toll on civilian life and infrastructure.
In subsequent years, the aggression continued unabated. On May 28, 2019, a series of airstrikes targeted Sanhan District in Sana'a Governorate. By May 28, 2020, raids were launched on Al Bayda, Hajjah, Marib, and Saada governorates, with shelling targeting Hodeida Governorate. The following year, on May 28, 2021, three boys were killed in Saudi artillery shelling in Saada Governorate, with mercenaries shelling various areas in Hodeida Governorate.
The violence persisted on May 28, 2022, with two civilians killed and a child injured by a landmine explosion in Al-Hodeida Governorate. Artillery shelling and combat fortifications continued to impact civilians across multiple governorates, marking a continued pattern of aggression and violence against civilian populations.
