Sana'a: On this day, June 9, the US-Saudi-Emirati coalition launched numerous airstrikes targeting various governorates in Yemen, leading to casualties and significant damage to infrastructure and homes.
According to Yemen News Agency, the airstrikes on June 9, 2015, resulted in the deaths of four citizens, including two children and a woman, in Al-Yatamah area of Al-Jawf governorate. The Bayt Al-Dhafif area in Sana'a governorate witnessed the death of three citizens and injuries to four others, alongside the destruction of multiple homes.
In Sa'ada governorate's Marran area, three women were killed, and airstrikes damaged trucks carrying diesel fuel in Al-Mahadher area. The aggression also targeted Jabal Al-Arir area in Ibb governorate, leading to three deaths and several injuries, and caused damage to critical road infrastructure linking Ibb and Taiz.
Additionally, airstrikes in Taiz city's Al-Ari area resulted in three deaths, while attacks southeast of Mocha Port caused extensive property damage. In Hajjah governorate, a gas station was bombed, and the historic Defense Complex in the Capital Secretariat was damaged.
On June 9, 2016, aggression warplanes continued their assault with airstrikes on Ma'rib and artillery shelling in various districts, causing widespread destruction in residential and agricultural areas.
The following year, on June 9, 2017, multiple airstrikes resulted in the deaths of three children and a woman in Sana'a governorate, and further attacks across Sa'ada, Hajjah, and other governorates caused additional casualties and property damage.
The aggression persisted on June 9, 2018, with airstrikes in Ma'rib, Al-Jawf, and other governorates, wreaking havoc on homes and farms. In 2019, shelling and airstrikes continued, particularly targeting Al-Hodeida city and surrounding areas, further escalating the humanitarian crisis.
On June 9, 2020, Saudi missile and artillery shelling targeted populated villages in Sa'ada governorate, while numerous airstrikes hit Ma'rib, Al-Jawf, and Hajjah governorates, inflicting severe damage to infrastructure and agriculture.
The aggression continued on June 9, 2021, with airstrikes in Sa'ada, Ma'rib, and Al-Hodeida governorates, causing injuries and extensive property damage. In 2022, cluster bomb remnants injured children in Sa'ada, and reconnaissance aircraft and artillery fire continued to impact several regions, including Ma'rib and Jizan.
Most recently, on June 9, 2023, spy aircraft launched airstrikes on Al-Hodeida, while mercenaries fortified positions and shelled various areas, contributing to the ongoing conflict and suffering in Yemen.
