US-Saudi-Emirati Aggression Results in Extensive Damage and Casualties Across Yemen

Sana'a: On this day, June 9, the US-Saudi-Emirati aggression launched dozens of airstrikes on various governorates, resulting in deaths and injuries and widespread destruction of public and private property.

According to Yemen News Agency, on June 9, 2015, airstrikes by the coalition resulted in the deaths of three citizens and injuries to four others in the Bayt al-Dhafif area of the Hamdan district in Sana'a Governorate. The strikes also caused the destruction and damage of several homes. In Saada Governorate, three women lost their lives in the Maran area due to similar attacks. The aggression targeted oil tankers in the al-Mahadhir area and launched an airstrike on the al-Manzalah area. In Ibb Governorate, three citizens were killed and five were injured in the Jabal al-Arir area due to airstrikes.

Furthermore, the air force targeted infrastructural sites, including the Al-Madajir area and the main road connecting Ibb and Taiz, causing significant damage. In Taiz, airstrikes resulted in three civilian deaths and injuries to six others. In Hajjah governorate, a gas station in the Mustaba district was hit, and the historic Al-Ardi Defense Complex in Sana'a suffered extensive damage. Additionally, four civilians, including two children, were killed in an airstrike on the Al-Yatima area in the Khab and Al-Sha'af district of Jawf Governorate.

On June 9, 2016, airstrikes continued with targets including the Harib Nihm area in Marib Governorate and the Bani Bariq area in Sana'a. Artillery shelling by mercenaries further impacted civilian homes and farms. In Amran and Lahj Governorates, sound bombs and airstrikes added to the devastation. The following year saw more casualties on June 9, 2017, with airstrikes in the Al-Qubari neighborhood of Sana'a killing three children and a woman, and injuring four others.

By June 9, 2018, the coalition aircraft had launched numerous airstrikes across Marib, Jawf, Taiz, Hajjah, Saada, and Hodeida governorates, causing significant damage to civilian properties. The pattern of aggression persisted in subsequent years. On June 9, 2019, artillery shells and airstrikes targeted areas in Hodeida and Saada Governorates, leading to damage to civilian homes and properties. The coalition's air force intensified attacks on June 9, 2020, with raids in Saada, Asir, Najran, and Marib Governorates, further compounded by artillery shelling.

The aggression continued unabated on June 9, 2021, with airstrikes in Kitaf, Sirwah, and Madghal in Marib Governorate, and artillery shelling in Saada and Hodeida Governorates. By June 9, 2022, the use of cluster bombs resulted in injuries to four children in Saada, and reconnaissance aircraft launched raids in multiple governorates. The latest reports from June 9, 2023, indicate continued airstrikes and bombardment in Hodeida Governorate, with mercenaries establishing combat fortifications and targeting various areas with artillery and ammunition.
