Sana'a:Multiple airstrikes by US-Saudi-Emirati forces have led to significant civilian casualties in Yemen over several years. These assaults have targeted various locations, including wedding ceremonies, homes, and public facilities, resulting in numerous deaths and injuries, primarily affecting women and children.
According to Yemen News Agency, On October 8, 2015, aggression aircraft targeted a wedding ceremony in Sanban village, Dhamar Governorate, killing 51 people and injuring 30 others. In Taiz Governorate, 14 people from one family were killed, and homes were damaged due to airstrikes. Further attacks in the Hajjah Governorate resulted in one death and 10 injuries. Additionally, civilian facilities and shops in Haradh city were targeted.
The following year, on October 8, 2016, two airstrikes during a mourning ceremony in Sana'a claimed 160 lives and injured 799 individuals. The airstrikes also caused damage in various areas of the capital, including Attan and Al-Nahdain. Saada Governorate saw multiple casualties, with airstrikes hitting markets and homes, leading to severe property damage.
In subsequent years, similar patterns of aggressive airstrikes have been recorded. For instance, in 2017, extensive airstrikes affected regions like Hajjah, Marib, Al-Jawf, and Saada Governorates, causing injuries, deaths, and significant property damage. By 2018, airstrikes continued to target civilian areas, including beekeeping farms and villages, resulting in more fatalities and injuries.
The attacks persisted into 2020 and 2021, with airstrikes and shelling in Al-Hodeida, Saada, and Marib Governorates, causing further civilian harm and destruction of properties. Most recently, on October 8, 2023, mercenaries established combat positions in Hays District, Al-Hodeida Governorate, and shelled various areas, continuing the trend of violence and instability in the region.
