Sana'a: On this day, May 3, the US-Saudi-Emirati coalition conducted airstrikes and artillery attacks across several Yemeni governorates, resulting in civilian casualties and widespread destruction of property. The targeted locations included airports, universities, and densely populated areas, leading to the death of a woman, injuries to numerous citizens, and significant material damage.
According to Yemen News Agency, on May 3, 2015, the coalition's aircraft targeted Hodeida International Airport, inflicting severe damage to its runway and main halls. The following year, on May 3, 2016, mercenary snipers associated with the coalition killed a woman in Taiz Governorate. Additionally, heavy weaponry, including tanks and artillery, was used to shell areas within the governorate, causing further destruction.
In Marib Governorate, citizens' homes in Sirwah District faced artillery attacks, while Jabal Hailan and Al-Mashjah were bombarded with mortar and artillery shells. Similarly, areas in Asilan District in Shabwah Governorate and Nihm District in Sana'a Governorate experienced extensive artillery and rocket fire.
The year 2017 saw further aggression with airstrikes on the Midi coast in Hajjah Governorate, injuring four citizens. The coalition also launched attacks on Al-Jar farms in Abs District and the Jarban area in Sana'a Governorate, damaging property and homes. In Marib Governorate, the coalition's aircraft destroyed a citizen's car in Sirwah District, while artillery and missile shelling continued to damage homes and farms.
On May 3, 2019, the Faculty of Medicine at Hodeida University suffered material damage due to artillery shelling by coalition mercenaries. The airport in Hodeida was also targeted with mortar shells, and combat fortifications were established in the city. Additionally, artillery and machine gun fire affected several areas in Hodeida, Al-Durayhimi, and Al-Tuhayta, as well as citizens' farms and property.
In 2021, reconnaissance aircraft dropped bombs on Al-Fazah and Al-Durayhimi in Hodeida Governorate, with further shelling reported in various areas. The coalition conducted 13 airstrikes in Sirwah District, Marib Governorate, exacerbating the ongoing conflict.
Most recently, on May 3, 2023, the coalition's reconnaissance aircraft launched four airstrikes on Hays District in Hodeida Governorate. Combat fortifications were established in Al-Jabaliyah and Hays, with several areas subjected to missile, artillery, and firearm attacks, further impacting the lives of civilians in the region.
