Visits to Water, Road, and Education Projects in Lahj Highlight Development Efforts

Lahj: Engineer Badr Al-Din Al-Tayyar, the representative of the Central Development Interventions Unit in Taiz and Lahj governorates, along with Ibrahim Hamim, the Director of Community Initiatives in Lahj governorate, conducted an inspection of various water, roads, and education projects in the Al-Qabaita district.

According to Yemen News Agency, Al-Tayyar emphasized the crucial role of water projects in development, noting their impact on serving citizens and easing their hardships. He announced plans for community support to establish 220 rainwater harvesting tanks post-Ramadan, building on 180 previous initiatives that have contributed to the water supply and self-sufficiency of many villages.

The Director of Initiatives in Lahj highlighted the significance of expanding initiatives in water, roads, and education as essential for achieving development goals. He noted that community involvement in these projects has led to significant improvements in the lives of citizens, underscoring the community's role in local development.

Engineer Suleiman Al-Hamidi, the Supervision and Follow-up Officer for the Interventions Unit, discussed the importance of activating these initiatives in partnership with the community. He stressed that prioritizing water projects is key to development and improving rural living conditions.

During the visit, Al-Tayyar, Hamim, and their team inspected Al-Nasr Popular Basic and Secondary School to assess the damage to classrooms caused by aggression and identify necessary interventions for restoration. These efforts aim to support the continuity and efficiency of the educational process.

The team also evaluated the district's needs for projects that enhance service delivery and facilitate movement between remote areas.
