Weather Forecast Expects Thunderstorms, Hot Conditions in the Coming Hours

Sana'a: The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning expects scattered and varied thunderstorms in parts of several provinces, and hot weather in deserts, plains, and coastal areas over the next 24 hours.

According to Yemen News Agency, the weather bulletin issued by the center indicates that thunderstorms of varying intensity are expected in parts of Taiz, Al-Dhale'e, Ibb, Rima, western Dhamar, Al-Mahwit, and Hajjah. Scattered rain, sometimes accompanied by thunder, is also expected in parts of the highlands of Lahj and Abyan provinces, as well as western parts of Sana'a, Amran, Sa'dah provinces, and parts of the Tihama plain.

Hot to extremely hot weather is likely in deserts, interior highlands, plains, and coastal areas. The center warned citizens in areas expecting rainfall of flash floods in streams and valleys, and against being in or crossing watercourses during and after rainfall. It also advised citizens in deserts, interior highlands, plains, and coastal areas to drink plenty of fluids and avoid direct exposure to sunlight during the afternoon hours.
