Women’s Authority in Taiz Concludes Summer Scouting Activities with Cultural Competition

Sana'a: The Women's Authority in Taiz governorate, in coordination with the governorate's Summer Programs Subcommittee, concluded its summer scouting activities for the year 1447 AH on Saturday with a cultural competition.

According to Yemen News Agency, the competition featured the recitation of the Holy Quran and cultural questions based on scouting lessons, with participation from schools in the districts of al-Ta'iziyah, Mawiyah, and Sala. Students from Umm Abiha School in al-Ta'iziyah district and al-Zahra School in Mawiyah district emerged as winners of the event.

Zainab al-Hilali, head of the Women's Authority in the governorate, praised the students' proficiency in memorizing and reciting the Holy Quran. She noted the success of the summer programs and activities, highlighting the remarkable turnout of students compared to previous years. Al-Hilali explained that this year saw participation from 20 schools, involving 1,000 students and 100 female teachers.

Al-Hilali emphasized the positive outcomes achieved by the students in learning the Holy Quran through the Yemeni method of recitation. She noted that the summer courses placed special emphasis on the Holy Quran and cultural information, and commended the efforts of the teaching staff and parents in ensuring the success of the summer programs.
