Sana'a: The Mobilization Department of the Women's Authority in the Capital Secretariat organized a meeting on Thursday for female cultural figures, educators, and social elites, marking the launch of activities for the commemoration of Ashura (the martyrdom of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him) for the year 1448 AH, under the slogan: 'Never shall we accept humiliation.'

According to Yemen News Agency, during the meeting, Intibah Al-Mahthouri, the Capital Secretariat Mobilization Official, emphasized the significance of the Ashura anniversary as a crucial milestone for rebuilding the Islamic nation, correcting its course, and continuing along the path of struggle, dignity, honor, victory, and empowerment against adversaries. She highlighted the Yemeni support for Imam Hussein, noting that today they renew their pledge and support for the banners of guidance, the Household of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family), and the Islamic nation, following Imam Hussein's path in confronting Zionist and American tyranny, and in supporting Gaza and Palestine.

Cultural activist Mirfat Al-Suwari provided a review of the cultural guidelines for commemorating Ashura, which represents an enduring model of sacrifice, devotion, steadfastness, and resistance against falsehood. She addressed the bloody Umayyad legacy and the crimes committed against the Islamic nation, particularly the tragedy of Karbala, which targeted the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family), his household, and his companions. Al-Suwari affirmed that this crime exposed the reality of a project based on tyranny, deviation from Islamic values, and principles.

Al-Suwari stressed that commemorating Ashura is not merely about remembering a historical event but is a way to draw lessons, values, and moral teachings embodied by Imam Hussein in confronting injustice and oppression. It also serves to reinforce the principles of truth, justice, freedom, and dignity. Furthermore, she emphasized the importance of activating cultural and awareness programs and activities across all districts, to strengthen societal awareness, connect younger generations with the biography and enduring positions of Imam Hussein, and promote a sense of responsibility in confronting challenges that target the nation.
