Sana'a: The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Sana'a University held on Sunday a workshop to discuss and enrich the regulations of the Clinical Doctorate Program (MD). The workshop aimed to review the details of the regulations and update their provisions in line with the interests of students and academic work, while enhancing the international accreditation of the Clinical Doctorate Program (MD) under the European Credit System.
According to Yemen News Agency, University President Dr. Mohammed Al-Bukhaiti praised the efforts of the faculty's administration and its academic and administrative staff in delivering a distinguished educational mission. He highlighted their commitment to performing their duties effectively with the launch of the 1447 AH / 2025-2026 academic year. He expressed hope that the program would strengthen the university's standing at the local, regional, and international levels, making it a platform for producing research with direct therapeutic and clinical value, as well as for graduating highly qualified medical professionals capable of competing in the job market.
For his part, Faculty Dean Dr. Mohammed Al-Shahari stressed the importance of the program in training physicians with strong skills in both scientific research and clinical practice, noting that developing local medical staff is vital to addressing the challenges facing Yemen's health sector. He added that the program contributes to ensuring academic quality, aligning with both national and international higher education standards, linking regulations to the practical needs of healthcare institutions, the labor market, achieving scientific and professional integration by combining theoretical and clinical aspects in service of excellence in clinical practice.
Meanwhile, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Academic Affairs Dr. Adel Al-Ghayli reviewed the program's objectives, admission requirements, and mechanisms for improving the quality of medical education in accordance with global standards. In the same context, an entrance examination for the Clinical Doctorate Program was held for more than 250 applicants across various medical specialties, as part of the university's commitment to enhancing the quality of higher education and developing academic programs that meet labor market needs.
