Sana'a: Representatives of M©decins Sans Fronti¨res (MSF) offered on Sunday their condolences over the attack that targeted the Prime Minister of the Government of Change and Construction along with several cabinet members in Sana'a last Thursday.
According to Yemen News Agency, this expression of sympathy came during a meeting between Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for International Cooperation, Ambassador Ismail al-Mutawakil, and heads of MSF missions Hani al-Malihi (France), Denis Habasa (Spain), and Desma Maina (Switzerland).
Ambassador al-Mutawakil appreciated the solidarity conveyed by MSF, emphasizing that the attack was shocking as it targeted a civilian government with no military character. He noted that the assault was not a military or media victory but a blatant act consistent with the Israeli enemy's tactics to pressure people, describing it as a dangerous precedent and a violation of international laws and norms.
He further stated, 'Yemen is paying a heavy price to stop the genocide in Gaza,' affirming that 'our voices will remain loud and our hands extended in support of Palestine.' Al-Mutawakil also reiterated Yemen's support for MSF, commending the organization's efforts to save lives and provide assistance to civilians.
The MSF representatives expressed their condolences over the incident, affirming that targeting a civilian government constitutes a breach of international law and conventions. They also voiced their humanitarian solidarity, stressing that MSF will continue its fieldwork to save lives and provide medical care to civilians despite ongoing challenges.
