Sana'a: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates issued a statement on Thursday marking the 11th anniversary of the National Day of Steadfastness, alleging that aggressor states, primarily led by Saudi Arabia, have committed unprecedented war crimes against Yemen. The Ministry claims these actions violate Yemen's sovereignty, the UN Charter, and international norms.
According to Yemen News Agency, the statement highlights that over the past 11 years, these states have targeted civilians, including women and children, and attacked civilian infrastructure such as homes, hospitals, and schools. The Ministry accuses the aggressors of using starvation as a weapon, citing the economic blockade, closure of Sana'a airport, and prevention of fuel shipments as factors contributing to what the UN describes as the world's worst humanitarian crisis, affecting 22.3 million people in need of assistance and 18.3 million suffering from acute food insecurity.
The statement further alleges that the aggression's true objectives include the destruction of Yemen's resources, occupation of its islands and ports, and plundering of its wealth, all under the guise of broader geopolitical strategies. Despite these challenges, the Ministry praises the resilience of the Yemeni people and their armed forces in defending their sovereignty.
In a show of solidarity, Yemen has endorsed Operation 'Al-Aqsa Flood' and pledged support to Palestine, reflecting a commitment to humanitarian and moral duties. Despite diplomatic isolation, the Ministry continues efforts to bring international attention to Yemen's plight and expose ongoing crimes by aggressor states, including economic warfare and territorial occupation.
The Ministry reiterated its commitment to peace and endorsed UN efforts for conflict resolution, calling on the Saudi regime to engage positively with peace messages from Yemeni leadership. Concluding the statement, Yemen reaffirmed its support for Palestine, Lebanon, and Iran against external aggressions.
