Sana'a: The teams of Kak Bank, Facilities Police, Yemen Mobile, and Flusak Wallet have reached the quarterfinals of the 9th Yemeni Telecommunications Football Tournament for Companies, organized by the Companies Union at the Recreational Club stadium in Sana'a, under the patronage of Yemen Telecom.
According to Yemen News Agency, Kak Bank defeated Facilities Police, and both qualified together for the quarterfinals from Group Two, while Yemen Mobile defeated Flusak Wallet, and both qualified together from Group Three, in the matches held today, Monday, at the opening of the fifth and final round of the group stage.
In Group Two, the defending champions Kak Bank secured a narrow 2-1 victory over Facilities Police, raising their tally to 10 points at the top of the group, securing their place in the quarterfinals alongside Facilities Police, who finished second with 7 points. Kak Bank's goals were scored by Ahmed Match and Ahmed Zahra, while the only goal for Facilities Police was scored by Ahmed Al-Yamani.
In the second match of the same group, the Ministry of Electricity and Water failed to capitalize on Facilities Police's stumble, suffering a heavy 6-1 defeat at the hands of the Public Prosecution team, which bid farewell to the competition with its first victory in the tournament. The Public Prosecution's six goals were scored by Mohammed Al-Qudsi (3 goals), Ismail Al-Radmi, and Mustafa Al-Madwahy, while the only goal for the Ministry of Electricity and Water was scored by Kamal Al-Masouri. With this result, the Ministry of Electricity and Water dropped to fourth place in Group Two after their tally remained at 4 points, behind the Palestinian Community team in third place on goal difference, while the Public Prosecution ended its tournament campaign in fifth and last place with 3 points.
In the final match of Group Three, Yemen Mobile secured a narrow 2-1 victory over Flusak Wallet, with both teams advancing to the same stage after Yemen Mobile topped the group with a perfect score (12 points), followed by Flusak Wallet in second place with 7 points. Yemen Mobile's goals were scored by Mohammed Musa and Nabil Al-Zoumahi, while Flusak Wallet's goal was scored by Jihad Al-Khayl.
In another match that saw 11 goals scored in Group Three, the Ministry of Finance defeated the Ministry of Oil by 7 goals to 4. The Ministry of Finance's seven goals were scored by Mohammed Al-Sarouri (4 goals), Shaker Al-Sabri, and an own goal scored by an opposing player, while the Ministry of Oil's four goals were scored by Ahmed Tamesh, Osama Al-Sakhimi, Hisham Al-Saylimi, and Abdulghani Tamesh. The Ministry of Finance's victory over the Ministry of Oil was not enough, as both teams exited the tournament from the group stage. The Ministry of Finance finished third with 6 points, followed by the Ministry of Oil in fourth with 4 points, while the Passport Authority had already exited the competition in the previous round, finishing fifth and last in Group Three without any points.
