Hodeidah: The branch of the Yemen Oil Company in Hodeidah Governorate has launched a periodic and comprehensive calibration campaign for meters and pumps at private agent stations in the governorate center and various districts. The campaign is part of the Oil Company's ongoing efforts to enhance supply monitoring and regulate local market performance, ensuring consumer protection, preventing fraudulent practices or quantity manipulation, and verifying the safety of operational procedures and stations' compliance with safety and security requirements.
According to Yemen News Agency, during the launch, the Director of the company's branch in Al Hudaydah, Adnan Al-Jarmouzi, explained that the campaign aims to protect consumers and ensure that citizens receive their needs of petroleum derivatives in correct quantities and approved specifications, preventing manipulation or technical violations in the sales process. He stated that field technical and supervisory teams have begun their tasks of inspecting and verifying the accuracy of filling meters using precise calibration devices, in addition to inventorying actual stock and matching it with data recorded in the electronic trading system.
He pointed out that the campaign also includes reviewing legal licenses and verifying the extent of stations' compliance with occupational safety and security requirements, ensuring the stability of the supply situation and maintaining public safety. Al-Jarmouzi affirmed that no leniency will be shown towards any violations detected, and legal deterrent measures will be taken against manipulators.
The branch director urged station owners to fully cooperate with field committees to facilitate their tasks, contributing to organizing the local market and enhancing supervision and oversight over company agents. He noted that field visits will continue according to the timeline to cover all targeted stations across the governorate.
