Sana'a: The Yemen Petroleum Company affirmed its continued commitment to taking all necessary precautionary measures to eliminate any problems that may arise during the handling and transportation of petroleum derivatives at various stages and to address their root causes, thus ensuring the development of operations and the smooth flow of the supply process.
According to Yemen News Agency, the company issued a statement indicating that, based on its responsibility towards citizens and its keenness to follow up on all observations and complaints circulating on social media regarding breakdowns in their vehicles and transportation due to fueling at some stations, it confirms that upon becoming aware of the issue, it immediately took urgent measures to address the problem.
The statement explained that field teams, along with specialists from the Ministry of Oil and Minerals, were assigned to conduct field visits to the reported stations to collect samples of the fuel delivered there for testing in the company's laboratories to verify its specifications. This step enables the company to resolve the matter. The statement also indicated that, concurrently with these measures, the company's complaints department continues to receive complaints regarding petroleum products around the clock via WhatsApp (782200930). Specialists will review and verify these complaints and report back with their findings.
The initial findings of the investigations into these incidents suggest they stem from working conditions and the environment in which petroleum products are unloaded, transported, and stored. The company has taken the necessary precautionary measures to ensure the safety of the products unloaded at stations and to find appropriate solutions and alternatives to improve operations and resolve any issues that may arise during the supply process.
The company added that it will inform the public of any findings or developments that warrant public announcement as soon as the assigned teams complete their work. Furthermore, the company stated that the destruction of its storage tanks by the American and Israeli enemy has hindered its ability to implement certain procedures. These tanks were crucial for receiving petroleum products from ships, storing them for a suitable period after unloading, allowing impurities to settle, and ensuring the material was stable and free of any impurities before pumping.
As a result, the company has not and will not allow the unloading of any shipments until they have undergone laboratory testing in its facilities and their conformity to approved specifications has been confirmed. The company noted that its delay in issuing this statement was not due to ignoring the complaints, but rather to its keenness to refrain from releasing any information or data until the problem has been diagnosed and appropriate solutions found.
The company's responsibility extends beyond simply following up on and verifying complaints. It includes taking the necessary and appropriate measures to resolve them, including compensating for damages in cases that have been officially reported and technically proven to be related to the problem. This commitment stems from its sense of national, ethical, and religious responsibility and duty.
The company urged citizens to ensure the accuracy of their complaint details to facilitate review and resolution by specialists. It commended the resilience of the Yemeni people in the face of the imposed blockade and reiterated its commitment to compensating for damages resulting from these issues.
