Yemeni Higher Education Sector Reviews Performance Reports of Jiblah University and Al-Khabt Community College

Sana'a: Officials in Yemen's higher education sector reviewed Sunday the annual performance report of Jiblah University and discussed the report of al-Khabt Community College as part of an evaluation of universities and community colleges for the 1447 AH academic year.

According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting was chaired by Deputy Minister of Education and Scientific Research Hatem al-Duais. The session focused on examining Jiblah University's annual performance report, presented by University Rector Abdullah al-Matari. The report outlined the institution's academic, administrative, and research achievements, alongside key challenges and proposed solutions.

Al-Duais emphasized that these annual reviews are a crucial step toward strengthening institutional evaluation, measuring progress in implementing universities' strategic plans, and improving the quality of higher education and its outcomes.

Deputy Higher Education Sector Undersecretary Ibrahim Luqman noted that the meetings provide accurate data useful for shaping development policies, addressing shortcomings, and building a more efficient higher education system capable of meeting development needs.

Al-Matari reiterated Jiblah University's commitment to promoting a culture of quality assurance, continuous evaluation, and institutional and academic development. He added that the committee's observations would help strengthen achievements and address challenges.

The committee, chaired by Deputy Chair Mohammed Abdulwahab, also reviewed the annual performance report of al-Khabt Community College in al-Mahwit governorate. The discussion covered the college's performance indicators, level of achievement, operational challenges, and proposals to improve its educational mission and community service.
