Sana'a:The Ministry of Justice and Human Rights has issued a strong condemnation of Saudi Arabia's ongoing allegations against Yemen and its armed forces, particularly claims that Yemeni forces targeted sites in Mecca and Medina.
According to Yemen News Agency, the ministry's statement labeled the invocation of Islamic holy sites as a desperate effort to sway public opinion and divert attention from what it described as Saudi crimes and the blockade imposed on Yemen.
The ministry emphasized that Yemeni military actions adhere to international law and the UN Charter's right to self-defense, insisting that civilian sites and religious sanctities have never been targeted.
Furthermore, the ministry accused Saudi Arabia of politicizing the two holy mosques and cautioned against potential staged security incidents aimed at blaming Yemen. Such incidents, it warned, could serve as pretexts for renewed military escalation or increased economic restrictions.
The ministry placed responsibility on the Saudi leadership for any threats to the security of the holy sites and their visitors, urging Islamic states and organizations to reject what it termed as Saudi narratives.
