Youth Deputy Minister Affirms Focus on Expanding Sports and Cultural Activities

Sanaa: Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Nabi Nasser, has highlighted ongoing efforts to expand sports and cultural activities in the fourth quarter of this year. He stated that a range of competitive sports events is being organized for thirty sports federations, reflecting an ambitious plan to revitalize these sectors at both the capital and governorate levels.

According to Yemen News Agency, the Ministry is not only focusing on sports but also implementing distinctive cultural programs, all funded by the Fund for the Care of Youth and Sports. This initiative aims to restore a vibrant presence in youth and sports arenas. The Ministry is also updating regulations and policies governing clubs, federations, and youth and sports centers to ensure a robust framework for these activities.

The Deputy Minister emphasized the significance of institutional development within the youth and sports sectors. A key focus is preparing an honors program for national team athletes who have achieved international success, thereby enhancing national pride. The Ministry is also working on activating an investment program for sports facilities to bolster resources and ensure the sustainability of activities. This includes creating a supportive environment for improving sports performance and nurturing promising talent.

Furthermore, Nasser reaffirmed the Ministry's dedication to expanding activities and implementing priority projects. This involves initiatives such as turfing stadiums and rehabilitating youth and sports facilities damaged during the aggression, aiming to restore their service role for youth and athletes.

The Deputy Minister underlined that these efforts are part of the State's broader strategy to invest in youth, recognizing them as a cornerstone of development and nation-building. The initiative seeks to foster a sense of belonging and responsibility among the youth, preparing them to contribute effectively to national development across various sectors.
