Sana'a: The Ministry of Youth and Sports team completed the lineup of quarterfinalists in the ninth Yemeni Telecommunications Companies Football Tournament, organized by the Companies Federation at the Recreational Club stadium in Sana'a under the supervision of the Ministry of Telecommunications: The ministry team advanced after defeating Sana'a Water 5-2 in the final Group D match.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Youth Ministry topped Group D with 10 points, ahead of the Public Authority for Zakat on goal difference. Sana'a Water finished fourth with six points. Ali Al-Nono scored twice for the ministry, while Mohamed Jamal and Nawaf Al-Amiri scored once each, with an own goal completing the tally. Diaa Al-Khamisi scored both goals for Sana'a Water.
In the other Group D match, the Yemeni Organization for Standardization, Metrology and Quality Control defeated TeleYemen 4-2 in a placement match. Zaid Al-Hubaishi scored twice, while Basem Al-Akahli and Ismail Al-Thari scored once each for the organization. TeleYemen's goals came from Yahya Huban and Ayman Zabara. The organization finished fifth with four points, while TeleYemen remained bottom with two points.
