Dhamar: The Youth and Sports Office in Dhamar province organized a commemorative event honoring the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him and his family. During the event, Shura Council member Hassan Abdulrazzaq highlighted the significance of the occasion, emphasizing the importance of recalling the Prophet's life, following his guidance, and emulating his noble qualities and values. He called on the public to celebrate this occasion in a manner befitting the Prophet's greatness.
According to Yemen News Agency, Abdulrazzaq praised the widespread preparations and celebrations across different regions, reflecting the deep connection of the Yemeni people with the Messenger of Allah. He encouraged strong participation in the central celebration to be held in Dhamar city and the Mahsoubah area in Wasab on the 12th of Rabi' al-Awwal.
The event was attended by Deputy Governor Mahmoud Al-Jabin and the Director of Dhamar General Hospital, Dr. Hammoud Al-Mushki. Speaking at the event, Deputy Director of the Youth and Sports Office in the governorate, Tayseer Rawiya, noted that celebrating the Prophet's birthday is an annual tradition practiced by Yemenis since the dawn of Islam, reflecting their deep love for the Messenger of Allah.
Rawiya explained that this year's commemoration carries special significance as the Islamic world faces tragic circumstances, with the Palestinian people in Gaza subjected to systematic war and starvation by the Israeli occupation, supported and backed by the United States, while Arab and Islamic leaderships remain silent.
He added that observing this occasion conveys profound meanings and demonstrates the emotional and spiritual bond with the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him and his family. He affirmed that commemorating the Prophet's birthday plays a vital role in strengthening faith-based identity and renewing the commitment to follow the Prophet's path in supporting the oppressed and confronting enemies.
Cultural activist Youssef Abdulrazzaq emphasized that the Prophet's birthday is a key occasion for reinforcing one's relationship with the Messenger of Allah, renewing loyalty and devotion, and expressing belonging to his teachings. He described celebratory events marking the occasion as a message to those seeking to distance the Muslim nation from its Prophet.
