Zakat Authority Launches Ramadan Charity Projects in Sa’ada with Over One Billion Riyals

Sa'ada: The Sa'ada Governorate office of the General Authority for Zakat launched today projects providing cash assistance to the disabled, aid to critical cases, disbursement of Zakat al-Fitr, and assistance to the poor and needy as part of its Ramadan charity projects in the governorate for the year 1447 AH. During the inauguration, Sa'ada Governor Mohammed Awad praised the qualitative leap the Zakat Authority has achieved, noting that it has become the alternative to all other organizations and institutions.

According to Yemen News Agency, the governor called for concerted efforts with the Zakat Authority and for raising community awareness about the importance of Zakat, so that the Authority can fulfill its role in meeting the needs of the community.

At the inauguration, which was attended by Abdullah Al-Kastaban, Director of the Martyrs' Families Care Authority branch in the governorate, Ahmed Jarallah, Director of the Zakat Authority office in the governorate, explained that the launch of the Ramadan charity projects comes in accordance with the directives of the Revolution Leader to care for the poor and needy. These projects include distributing cash assistance to the disabled, a project to assist critical cases, distributing Zakat al-Fitr, and providing aid to the poor and needy, with a total amount exceeding 1.098 billion riyals.

He indicated that the disbursement process will be carried out through cash transfers and in person in border and remote districts. Jarallah called on businessmen and merchants to promptly pay their Zakat so that the Authority can fulfill its role in distributing it to the categories specified by our religion, to help the poor and needy.
