138 Surgical Operations Performed at Free Surgical Medical Camp at Al-Hazm Hospital

Sana'a: The team of the free surgical medical camp, implemented by the Republican Teaching Hospital Authority in Sana'a at the Al-Hazm Hospital Authority in Al-Jawf Governorate, performed 138 free surgical operations.

According to Yemen News Agency, the camp, which ran for six days as a first phase, in coordination with the Ministry of Health and Environment and its office in the governorate, aimed to provide consultation, examination, and surgical services in the specialties of urology and ear, nose, and throat (ENT), to alleviate the suffering of citizens under the current circumstances.

The Head of the Camp, Dr. Naji Al-Habishi, explained that the total number of beneficiaries of the camp's services reached 1,805 beneficiaries, including 1,667 visitors to the specialized clinics, and 138 free surgical operations. He noted that the urology clinic received 835 cases, and 41 surgical operations were performed, totaling 876 services, while the ENT clinics received 832 cases, with 97 surgical operations performed, totaling 929 services.

Dr. Al-Habishi indicated that the camp is part of the Republican Teaching Hospital Authority's programs aimed at expanding the scope of specialized medical services and reaching governorates with limited health services, contributing to alleviating patients' suffering and strengthening partnership with local hospitals. He praised the efforts of the leadership of the Republican Teaching Hospital Authority in Sana'a in establishing the free camp at the Al-Hazm Hospital Authority in Al-Jawf, and providing all necessary facilities and needs for its success.

For his part, the Head of the Al-Hazm Hospital Authority, Dr. Hamid Khamis, appreciated the efforts of the leadership of the Republican Teaching Hospital Authority in Sana'a, and the medical and administrative teams that contributed to the success of the camp and the achievement of its humanitarian and health objectives. He reported that the camp witnessed a wide turnout of citizens who flocked from various districts of the governorate to benefit from the free medical and surgical services, amid the growing need for such humanitarian interventions.

Dr. Khamis affirmed that the camp contributed to alleviating the suffering of hundreds of patients by providing specialized services in urology surgery and ENT surgery, under the supervision of specialized medical and consultancy staff. The camp received popular satisfaction and praise from beneficiaries who expressed their gratitude for this initiative, which saved them the hardship of travel and treatment costs outside the governorate.
