Sanaa: Head of the National Negotiating Delegation Mohammed Abdul Salam has affirmed that freedom of navigation and international trade movement in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab remain safe and regular, dispelling any international concerns regarding these vital waterways.
According to Yemen News Agency, Abdul Salam conveyed through a post on the X platform that the ongoing military operations are precise in their objectives and are conducted within a defensive framework. He emphasized that these operations would cease once the aggression against Yemen stops and the siege on the country is lifted. Abdul Salam described actions by the Yemeni Armed Forces in certain coastal areas as national operations aimed at asserting Yemeni sovereignty and addressing challenges that threaten civil peace.
He reiterated that "true, just, and honorable peace" is Yemen's strategic choice, urging all parties to recognize that pursuing peace with Yemen is the least costly and most expedient route toward reorganizing relations based on principles of good neighborliness, mutual respect, and shared interests.
Furthermore, Abdul Salam asserted that the Republic of Yemen harbors no ambitions toward neighboring nations or any other countries, emphasizing that Yemen has not initiated aggression against any country. Instead, Yemen has been subjected to aggression, which he stated is contrary to Islamic and Arab brotherhood.
