Sana'a: Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Abdulwahid Abu Ras, met today with Mohamed Al-Ghannam, Director of the Office of the UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy to Yemen. The meeting focused on the cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates and the Office of the Special Envoy, as well as the latest developments affecting the country.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Acting Foreign Minister expressed concerns about the silence of the United Nations and the international community regarding the assassination of the Prime Minister and his colleagues. He stated that this silence may be perceived as a bias towards the Zionist entity and could potentially encourage further war crimes in Yemen and the surrounding region. Abu Ras emphasized the need for the Special Envoy to maintain impartiality among all parties and to address the unilateral actions taken by aggression's mercenaries, which are impacting citizens and worsening the economic and humanitarian conditions.
He stressed the importance of the United Nations and humanitarian organizations respecting Yemen's sovereignty, adhering to national laws, and upholding the principles of humanitarian work. In response, the Director of the Special Envoy's Office reaffirmed the United Nations' commitment to continuing efforts towards achieving peace in Yemen.
