Taiz: The Acting Governor of Taiz, Ahmed Al-Masawi, called on the misled residents of the western districts to return to their families and refrain from fighting in order to preserve lives and social cohesion, stressing that Quranic principles sanctify the protection of citizens.
According to Yemen News Agency, the acting governor of Taiz, in a statement addressed to the residents of Al-Kadha in Al-Ma’afer, Mawza, Al-Wazi’iyah, and Al-Mukha, affirmed that the utmost priority is protecting lives and property, and that the right of citizens to remain in their areas, away from any combat activity, is an inherent right that must not be violated. Any transgression of this right serves the enemies of the nation and opens the door to chaos.
He reminded the public that those who push citizens into the ranks of mercenaries affiliated with Saudi Arabia and the UAE are hired killing gangs who sell themselves to the highest bidder. They are alien to the land and its people, rejected by common sense, and have no connection whatsoever to Yemeni values.
Al-Masawi pointed out that the heavy military equipment and vehicles seized in the villages and valleys are clear evidence of their oppressive practices against vulnerable residents, and were one of the main drivers of the popular movement against them. He stressed that these are the real targets, not our misled sons. He said: ‘As for you, those who have been swept away by pressure or temptation, you are victims of these gangs, and we are not at odds with you. Yemeni blood is too precious to be sacrificed for a foreign agenda. The door to return is open to you. Whoever refrains from fighting their brothers and returns to their families will be granted complete safety, for our movement, guided by its Quranic principles, sanctifies the protection of the citizen.’
The acting governor added: ‘We call upon social figures, tribal leaders, and elders to cease incitement and prevent fighting, and to urge those bearing arms to return to their homes in Allah’s safety and the safety of all, in order to preserve lives and the social fabric.’
He also emphasized that the people of these areas are an integral part of the national fabric, and their interest lies in security, stability, and development, not in being exploited for foreign agendas. He announced his readiness to coordinate with all sincere individuals to secure the villages and farmers, thus preserving public order and protecting lives and property.
Al-Masawi continued, saying, ‘The nation deserves your support, and the righteous will prevail. There is no aggression except against the oppressors.’
