Airstrikes and Shelling Reported in Yemen Over Several Years

Sanaa:According to Yemen News Agency, a series of airstrikes and artillery shelling incidents have occurred in Yemen over multiple years, particularly on October 4, resulting in significant civilian casualties and property damage. These attacks have been attributed to US-Saudi-Emirati aggression.

On October 4, 2015, airstrikes targeted multiple areas in Yemen, causing the deaths of civilians, including women and children. In Saada Governorate, attacks in the Al-Mahadhir area of Sahar District and the Maran area of Haydan District resulted in five fatalities and several injuries. In Taiz, more than 35 airstrikes caused widespread damage to homes and infrastructure. Additional strikes in Sana'a Governorate and Marib Governorate led to extensive destruction of agricultural lands and residential properties.

The violence continued in subsequent years. On October 4, 2016, airstrikes in Al-Jawf Governorate resulted in the deaths of five women and other civilians. In Taiz Governorate, artillery shelling injured and killed several children. Saada Governorate experienced multiple airstrikes that caused severe damage to homes and farms. In the capital, airstrikes near a hospital caused significant destruction.

In 2017, airstrikes in Saada Governorate killed 12 people, including children. Similar attacks in Hajjah and Al-Hodeida governorates led to further casualties. The following year, on October 4, 2018, missile and artillery shelling in Saada Governorate injured civilians and damaged properties. In Al-Hodeida Governorate, airstrikes targeted various districts, leading to additional destruction.

The pattern continued with incidents reported on October 4, 2019, when shelling in Taiz Governorate resulted in casualties. Airstrikes in Sana'a and Al-Hodeida governorates caused further property damage. On October 4, 2020, shelling in Al-Hodeida injured several people from a single family, while airstrikes in Marib and Al-Jawf governorates caused damage to civilian properties.

More recently, on October 4, 2021, Saudi army fire in Saada Governorate resulted in civilian deaths and injuries. Airstrikes in Marib and Al-Hodeida governorates continued the trend of destruction and violence. In 2022 and 2023, reconnaissance aircraft conducted airstrikes in Al-Hodeida Governorate while mercenaries established combat fortifications and continued shelling various areas with artillery.
