Sana'a: Undersecretaries of Ministries of Social Affairs and Labor, Dr. Al-Hassan Al-Dhari and Dr. Ghassan Al-Madani, conducted an inspection of the progress in rehabilitation activities at the Association for the Care and Rehabilitation of the Deaf and Mute. Their visit focused on assessing the association's needs concerning economic empowerment programs and the quality of educational and training services provided to deaf and mute students.
According to Yemen News Agency, Al-Dhari and Al-Madani explored various departments and local product exhibitions at the association. The exhibitions highlighted products crafted by the students and members, showcasing their skills in sewing, embroidery, accessories, and carpentry. During the visit, they engaged with Iyad Al-Waeel, the association's Secretary-General, Abdul Salam Ma'sar, the Projects Director, and Kafa Al-Watiri, the Director of the Deaf Children's Integration Project. Discussions centered on the challenges faced by the association and the essential needs required to sustain the educational process and enhance the students' skills.
The Undersecretaries expressed their admiration for the quality of the products, emphasizing the potential of the deaf and mute community to integrate into the labor market effectively. They reiterated the Ministry's commitment to supporting the association's programs, aiming to improve local marketing of their products and transform its members into productive contributors to society. They highlighted the need for strengthened partnerships with supporting entities to provide necessary resources for the rehabilitation and care of people with disabilities.
Subsequently, Al-Dhari and Al-Madani visited the Al-Amal School for the Deaf and Mute, affiliated with the association. Here, they received insights from the school's principal, Ahlam Saif, and educational advisor, Nabil Hammad, regarding the initiatives the school implements to empower the deaf and mute community. They emphasized the importance of encouraging students to continue their education to prepare them for advanced academic levels.
