Al-hodeidah: The offices of the endowments in Al-Hodeidah Governorate organized a commemorative event this evening to mark the 19th anniversary of the passing of the eminent scholar Al-Hujjah Majd al-Din bin Muhammad al-Mu'aydi. The event was attended by notable figures including the Governorate Security Director Major General Aziz al-Jaradi, the Endowments Office head Ibrahim al-Na'ami, the Zakat Office head Muhammad Hazaa, Health Director Dr. Ali al-Haddad, along with a host of scholars, students, and social figures.
According to Yemen News Agency, the event focused on highlighting the virtues of the late scholar, his scholarly contributions, and his role in promoting moderation, spreading Islamic sciences, safeguarding religious heritage, and refuting distorted cultural narratives. Sheikh Dr. Ali 'Adhabi, Vice President of Dar al-Uloom al-Sharia University, reviewed key milestones in the life of Al-Mu'aydi, describing him as a comprehensive model of piety, asceticism, and devotion.
Dr. 'Adhabi emphasized that the late scholar was a central reference whose knowledge benefited thousands of students across Yemen. He noted that the intellectual output and writings Al-Mu'aydi left behind serve as a robust shield for the Islamic identity and protect Islamic thought from impurities and foreign ideas. He affirmed that these works will remain an essential reference for seekers of truth and pure religious sciences.
Sheikh Ali Soml, Head of the Scholars and Learners Unit in the governorate, addressed Al-Mu'aydi's role in alerting society to the dangers of conspiracies targeting the nation's religion and beliefs. He noted that the late scholar was proactive in warning against the ambitions of global arrogant powers and that his school of thought was characterized by linking knowledge with action.
Basam al-La'i, Head of Awareness at the Zakat Office, affirmed that commemorating scholars strengthens attachment to the values they embodied in life. He described Al-Mu'aydi as a model of a scholar who combined theoretical clarity with practical application, stressing that the Zakat Office supports awareness programs inspired by his life and legacy.
