Doha:Deputy Minister of Local Administration and Rural Development Nasser al-Mahdhar has praised the vigilance of residents in Yemen's southern and eastern provinces concerning the Saudi coalition's activities in the region. He emphasized their refusal to involve their children in conflicts that he claims only serve U.S. and Zionist interests as well as Saudi ambitions in Yemen.
According to Yemen News Agency, al-Mahdhar accused the Saudi regime of a long-standing agenda to exploit Yemen's resources and wealth while committing severe crimes. He stated that Saudi Arabia aims to dominate the region and enforce U.S. and Zionist plans. He assured the local residents that military operations by Yemeni forces are not targeting them but are focused on countering Saudi military build-ups, which he described as part of a broader conspiracy against Yemen.
Al-Mahdhar called on residents to avoid Saudi military gatherings and to withdraw their children from Saudi military camps to ensure their safety. He highlighted that Saudi forces had converted civilian airports in these provinces into military sites for assembling weapons and equipment.
He further described Saudi Arabia as a common adversary of all Yemenis, accusing it of fomenting chaos and division in Yemen to monopolize the country's resources. He cited incidents of brutal killings, displacement, and abuses by Saudi forces, particularly in Hadramout and Aden, as evidence of ongoing occupation.
Al-Mahdhar urged the residents of the southern and eastern governorates to join the national effort to secure Yemen's legitimate rights, framing this as both a religious and national obligation. He warned that the Saudi regime would likely continue its attempts to exploit Yemen's resources, holding them accountable for transforming these regions into conflict zones.
