Tunis:Al-Mahra Governor Al-Qahtabi Al-Farji emphasized the importance of the October 14 Revolution as a pivotal moment in Yemen's history, marking the people's commitment to rejecting foreign domination and occupation.
According to Yemen News Agency, Al-Farji, speaking on the 63rd anniversary of the revolution, recounted its origins in the mountains of Radfan and its success in freeing southern Yemen from over a century of British rule. He described the revolution as a necessary response to colonialism, driven by the people's desire for freedom and independence through armed struggle.
Al-Farji pointed out that this year's anniversary coincides with ongoing efforts by the Yemeni people, under the leadership of Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, to support Palestinians and resist hegemonic powers and new occupiers. He emphasized the importance of honoring the revolution's goals and the sacrifices made by its martyrs and fighters, expressing confidence that any new occupiers and their proxies would ultimately be defeated.
The governor urged the descendants of the revolutionaries to protect its achievements and resist any colonial or conspiratorial efforts aimed at dividing Yemen and exploiting its resources. He called for unity among the people of the southern and eastern provinces and all Yemenis, advising against supporting Saudi-American plans and expressing faith in Yemen's leadership, people's awareness, and military capabilities.
Al-Farji also congratulated Sayyed Abdulmalik al-Houthi and Supreme Political Council President Field Marshal Mahdi al-Mashat on the armed forces' successes, reaffirming his commitment to the liberation and restoration of full national sovereignty across all Yemeni territories.
