Taiz: The Acting Governor of Taiz, Ahmed Al-Masawi, inaugurated the Alternative Energy Project for Taiz University Center Al-Huban today. The project, which costs 141 thousand dollars, is funded by the Central Emergency Developmental Interventions Unit of the Ministry of Local Administration and Rural Development.
According to Yemen News Agency, the initiative is part of a program aimed at enhancing energy sustainability and reducing costs. It includes the installation of solar panels with a capacity of 129 kilowatts, supplemented by a lithium battery storage system with a capacity of 1485 kilowatt hours.
During the inauguration, the Acting Governor stated that the launch of the alternative energy project is in line with the directives of the revolution leader Sayyid Abdul Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, the President of the Supreme Political Council, His Excellency Field Marshal Mahdi al-Mashat, and the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Local Administration and Rural Development, Dr. Mohammed al-Madani.
He emphasized that the project will aid in promoting alternative energy, achieving environmental sustainability, and enhancing the efficiency of the national electricity grid. The project's implementation is part of broader service and development initiatives aimed at bolstering local development efforts in the governorate.
