General

Al-hodeidah: The General Authority of Al-Thowra Hospital in Al-Hodeidah province has initiated a free medical camp focused on providing care for patients suffering from heart disease, hypertension, and diabetes. This initiative was launched on Tuesday and coincides with the celebration of the Prophet Muhammad's (peace be upon him) birthday.

According to Yemen News Agency, the two-day camp aims to deliver essential medical services, such as examinations, medication dispensing, and specialized consultations in clinical pharmacy and therapeutic nutrition. Additionally, the camp offers a significant 50% discount on laboratory tests and echocardiograms, making it more accessible to a broader segment of the population.

At the event's inauguration, Dr. Khaled Ahmed Suhail, Chairman of the Authority, emphasized the camp's role in serving the community, particularly focusing on vulnerable groups. He explained that the timing of the camp, aligned with the Prophet's birthday, underscores a message of solidarity and embodies values of mercy and giving.

Dr. Suhail also highlighted the Authority's commitment to organizing similar camps annually. This initiative is part of a broader mission to expand access to medical services and reduce patient suffering. On the first day, the camp served 153 individuals across various age groups, providing examinations, tests, free medication, and expert consultations. He noted the critical need for such medical camps in Al-Hodeidah due to its increasing health demands.

The Chairman praised the camp's team, including doctors, technicians, and administrators, for their dedication and quality care. He acknowledged the support from the Ministry of Health and Environment and local authorities, which is crucial given the country's current challenges.

Dr. Adel Jubran, Camp Director, elaborated on the camp's comprehensive programs, which include screening, examinations, and education on prevention and self-care for the chronic conditions targeted. The camp is staffed by a team of experienced consultants and specialists, ensuring integrated medical services for all beneficiaries.
