Sana'a: Al-Wahda District in the Capital Secretariat held a series of events to commemorate the birth of Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him and his family. Residents of Al-Kadhama neighborhood in Western Al-Safiya organized a cultural evening featuring various activities expressing joy at the occasion. During the event, First Deputy Mayor of Sana'a Khaled Al-Madani highlighted the significance of the occasion and the greatness of the Prophet, who came as a bearer of glad tidings, a warner, teacher, leader, and mercy to the worlds.
According to Yemen News Agency, Al-Madani emphasized that the large-scale celebrations and widespread expressions of joy across cities, streets, and neighborhoods reflect Yemenis' awareness and steadfast attachment to the Prophet, their role model, and their commitment to following his path and supporting Islam, the causes, and sanctities of the Muslim nation. He stressed the importance of continuing activities befitting the significance of the occasion, using them to promote solidarity, compassion, charity, and care for the needs of the poor and needy, in accordance with the values and morals embodied by the Prophet of mercy and humanity.
The evening, attended by District Director Sami Hameed, as well as local, security, and executive officials, social figures, and dignitaries, featured poems and cultural and chanting performances celebrating the occasion. Al-Wahda District also held a community meeting as part of preparations for broad participation in the central celebration of the Prophet's birth anniversary at Al-Sabeen Square. The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Dr. Ghassan Al-Madani, District Director Sami Hameed, officials, and representatives of the district's business sector.
Participants affirmed their commitment to the Prophet as a leader, teacher, role model, and guiding example in all aspects of life, and expressed readiness to commemorate the occasion on an unprecedented scale. Meanwhile, the district's mobilization office organized a cultural seminar addressing the significance of commemorating the religious occasion, its place in the hearts of Yemenis, their close connection to the Seal of the Prophets and Messengers, and their emulation of him.
In a related development, the Social Affairs and Labor Office in Al-Wahda District launched charitable initiatives, including the distribution of food baskets to the poorest and most vulnerable families and meals to patients at Al-Rahma Hospital and detainees at the July 7 Police Station. It also organized a meal for students and staff of the Yemeni-Chinese Institute as part of the Mawlid activities.
