Taiz: Deputy Minister of Electricity, Energy, and Water, Adel Bader, and Acting Governor of Taiz, Ahmed Al-Masawa, recently conducted a review of the water and electricity requirements in the Al-Wazi'iyah, Mawza', and Mocha districts of the Taiz governorate.
According to Yemen News Agency, Bader and Al-Masawa inspected various water and electricity projects in these liberated districts, following the removal of Saudi-backed forces. During their visit to significant sites such as the Mocha diesel-powered electricity plant, the solar power plant, and the local branch of the Water and Sanitation Corporation, they received detailed briefings from officials. These briefings covered ongoing and future water projects, existing electricity services, and the essential steps needed to enhance the electricity supply to Mocha city and its surrounding communities.
Bader directed the local Water and Sanitation Corporation to maintain a consistent supply of water services to residents. He encouraged employees to collaborate effectively and enhance service quality. This visit underscores the priority of addressing the water and electricity needs in these districts, as outlined by the Leader of the Revolution, Mr. Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, and the President of the Supreme Political Council.
Bader also instructed the relevant authorities to compile a comprehensive report on the districts' needs to improve water and electricity services. These efforts aim to alleviate the challenges faced by citizens due to ongoing aggression and blockades. Bader expressed optimism that local authorities would take necessary actions to stabilize the region, address citizen needs, and support the safe return of residents to their homes.
Acting Governor Al-Masawa commended the ministry's leadership for their commitment and on-site involvement, which allowed them to understand the districts' needs better. He affirmed support for initiatives aimed at reducing hardships faced by residents in the liberated areas.
Meanwhile, Mashaal Dr. Al-Rifi, Director General of the Public Electricity Corporation, highlighted the visit's focus on evaluating the Mocha electricity plants' operational capacity. Despite some power generation plants being out of service, a five-megawatt electricity service continues in Mocha. Dr. Al-Rifi emphasized ongoing efforts to prepare a detailed report on the power plants' needs, aiming to rehabilitate them fully and restore electricity services to Mocha and nearby areas. Coordination efforts among the Ministry of Electricity, the Public Electricity Corporation, and local authorities ensure the security and operation of existing generation sites and substations.
