Suifenhe: Chinese authorities announced today, Saturday, that work is underway in the city of Suifenhe, located in northeastern China near the border with Russia, to establish a Chinese-Russian international logistics port for shipping. According to Yemen News Agency, the Xinhua News Agency quoted the authorities as saying that the project covers an area of 23,738 square meters, and the total investment in its implementation will amount to 120 million yuan (approximately 16.8 million US dollars). The new project includes a high-end international center for the exhibition, storage, and distribution of goods, modern "star-level" office buildings, and high-class themed hotels. As part of the new project, a high-level international center for displaying, storing, and distributing goods has been planned, along with high-standard modern office buildings, in addition to high-end themed hotels. The agency clarified that by establishing an efficient and intelligent logistics system, the new project will provide e-c ommerce companies with support in the form of strong infrastructure and smart services to develop markets in Russia and Eastern Europe. Suifenhe is located in Heilongjiang Province in northeastern China, bordering Russia's Primorsky Krai region. According to the latest data issued by the customs office in the Chinese city of Harbin, the total volume of imports and exports between Russia and the border province of Heilongjiang rose by 3.5% between January and July 2025, reaching 139.61 billion yuan (about 19.5 billion US dollars). More than 31 million people live in Heilongjiang Province, which borders Russia. The province is actively working to develop trade and economic cooperation with Russian regions.
