Beijing: Data released by China's General Administration of Customs on Tuesday showed that China's foreign trade volume, measured in yuan, rose 16.9 percent year-on-year in May. According to Yemen News Agency, the total value of imports and exports of goods reached 4.45 trillion yuan (about US$653 billion) last month, remaining above 4 trillion yuan for the third consecutive month. Exports increased by 13.8 percent compared to the same period last year, while imports rose by 21.5 percent year-on-year. During the first five months of this year, China's total foreign trade volume reached 20.68 trillion yuan, reflecting a 15.3 percent increase year-on-year.
