Sana'a: The General Authority for Social Insurance and Pensions has initiated the disbursement of the second half of the October 2021 pension payments to civil service retirees. According to Yemen News Agency, Authority Chairman Ibrahim Al-Haifi announced that the distribution is being executed under a temporary exceptional mechanism aimed at supporting state employees' salaries, in accordance with Law No. (2) of 1446 AH. This law ensures that pensions are paid regularly with 12 installments annually.
Al-Haifi highlighted that this step comes after intensive coordination efforts with the Ministers of Finance and Civil Service and Administrative Development. The initiative aims to maintain the consistent and regular payment of pensions as part of a government program that acknowledges the contributions and service of retirees to the nation.
Retirees and their representatives are encouraged to visit post offices with the necessary documents to receive their pension payments. Al-Haifi expressed appreciation for the collaboration of relevant authorities, particularly noting the efforts of Central Bank of Yemen Governor Hashim Ismail, and officials and employees of the Authority, the Ministries of Civil Service and Finance, and the Postal Savings Authority, in ensuring the successful execution of the disbursement process.
