Sana'a: A meeting held on Wednesday at the Ministry of Local Administration and Rural Development discussed aspects related to the implementation of awareness and Ramadan activities. During the meeting, attended by preachers and religious guides from Al-Thawrah District in the Capital Secretariat, the Director of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Local Administration and Rural Development, Jamal Al-Alawi, emphasized the importance of the role of preachers, guides, and mosque officials in preparing and maintaining mosques, encouraging people to implement the Ramadan program and activities, motivating them to engage in various acts of charity and benevolence, and to attend Qur'an study circles to attain reward and blessings from Allah, especially during this holy month.
According to Yemen News Agency, he pointed to the importance of reviving the spirit of cooperation and solidarity among community members, fostering a sense of responsibility, checking on citizens' conditions, and addressing their needs. He stressed the necessity for preachers and guides to raise community awareness and encourage participation in cooperative associations, expand their activities, and implement community initiatives in developmental and service fields-particularly the Date Seed Planting Initiative aimed at supporting agricultural development efforts and achieving self-sufficiency.
For their part, Al-Thawrah District Director Aqeel Al-Saqqaf and the Executive Director of Al-Thawrah Cooperative Association, Abdulwahab Al-Nashari, affirmed the vital and influential role of preachers, guides, and mosque officials in educating and raising community awareness about the benefits of expanding the establishment of cooperative associations, joining and participating in them, and broadening their developmental and service activities.
They noted that preachers and guides possess the ability to persuade and influence, to foster a community culture that recognizes the importance of community initiatives and cooperative associations, contributing to increasing their revenues and enabling them to achieve their primary objectives in advancing the local situation.
