Beit al-faqih: The local authority and the Zakat Office in Beit Al-Faqih District, Hodeidah Governorate, launched the distribution of food baskets to poor and needy families in a number of areas in the district, as part of the Ramadan charity projects for the year 1447 AH.
According to Yemen News Agency, the project includes the distribution of 1,250 food baskets to poor cases in the villages and sub-districts of the district, including 500 baskets allocated for the poor and needy in the Al-Jah area.
During the launch, the District Director, Hussein Sahl, praised the efforts of the General Zakat Authority and its charitable and humanitarian projects targeting the poor, needy, and the most impoverished groups. He considered the Zakat Authority an effective model in implementing relief and charitable projects, through the assistance it provides that contributes to alleviating the suffering of the needy and enhances the values of social solidarity and compassion, appreciating its role in delivering zakat to its beneficiaries in various areas of the district.
For his part, the Director of the Zakat Office in the district, Mukhtar Al-Madani, explained that the distribution of food baskets comes within the Ramadan charity programs aimed at caring for the poor and needy and alleviating living burdens on them. He noted that the General Zakat Authority continues to implement its relief and development projects according to a mechanism that ensures zakat reaches its beneficiaries, embodying the purposes of zakat in serving the community and enhancing the livelihood stability of beneficiary families.
