Yemen: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates commented on the recent decisions taken by the Council of Europe, particularly the amendment to the mandates of the EU's naval operations "ESPIDESS" and "Atalanta."
According to Yemen News Agency, the Ministry affirmed that protecting maritime routes and international trade is not achieved through militarizing seas and oceans or intensifying foreign military presence therein, but rather by addressing the root causes that have led to the threats against them. The statement indicated that the US-Israeli aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran and other countries in the region is what threatens international navigation and international trade, negatively impacting global supply chains, energy prices, and maritime insurance.
The statement clarified that protecting freedom of navigation in the seas and straits is the responsibility of the coastal states, and that the foreign presence and militarization of the seas and straits will only contribute to further tension and instability. It noted that failed experiences should be abandoned, and lessons should be learned from them, not perpetuated and reinforced.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on European countries not to become involved in any way in the aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran and the countries of the region, an aggression into which the criminal Trump is trying to drag them. The statement pointed out that Europe should realize that America has failed to achieve its objectives in its aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran and has suffered heavy losses, the latest being the massacre of its aircraft there. Furthermore, Europe's involvement in the aggression will have repercussions on its internal situation, as happened in America with the demonstrations and dismissals of a number of officials. Europe has no need to fight a battle that is not its own, and it will only reflect negatively on it.
