Sana'a: The Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs in the Gaza Strip revealed today that the total number of mosques targeted by the Zionist enemy since the start of the genocide war in October 2023 until today has reached 1,244 out of 1,275 mosques in the Gaza Strip, of which 1,077 have been completely destroyed.
According to Yemen News Agency, the "Gaza Endowments" confirmed in a statement that targeting service facilities associated with religious institutions, damaging and burning mosques, once again reveals the Zionist enemy's deliberate intention to strike at the foundations of life and target everything that serves the Palestinian people.
The ministry condemned in the strongest terms the new heinous crime committed by the Zionist enemy in targeting the ancient Abu Salim Mosque in Deir al-Balah city in the central Gaza Strip, and the Asqalan Mosque prayer hall in Al-Shati refugee camp north of Gaza City, resulting in the destruction of parts of Abu Salim Mosque and the complete destruction of the Asqalan prayer hall.
It stated that this flagrant assault adds to the series of systematic crimes targeting mosques, places of worship, and sanctities, in a blatant violation of the sanctity of God's houses and international laws and norms.
The ministry condemned the Zionist enemy's targeting of a water desalination plant and Al-Salam Market, one of the projects affiliated with the Sheikh Radwan Zakat Committee under the ministry, which resulted in their complete destruction, in addition to partial damage to the Al-Radwan Mosque prayer hall in the Sheikh Radwan area west of Gaza City.
The Ministry of Endowments in the Gaza Strip considered the Zionist enemy's targeting of mosques and prayer halls, and their destruction or damage, not merely an assault on stone and brick, but an assault on the identity, faith, and right of the Palestinian people to practice their religious rituals, and an attempt to erase their civilizational and religious landmarks and destroy everything connected to their life and institutions.
It held the Zionist enemy fully responsible for these crimes, calling on the international community, human rights institutions, and relevant bodies to assume their responsibilities, put an end to these attacks, and hold the Israeli enemy leaders and those responsible for these crimes accountable before international justice bodies.
The "Gaza Endowments" reaffirmed that the mosques will remain witnesses to the steadfastness of the Palestinian people, and that their destruction will not succeed in uprooting their message or silencing the call to prayer and the Quran.
The ministry affirmed that it will continue, despite the enormity of the challenges, to fulfill its duty to protect God's houses, serve His Book and religious rites, and work to rebuild what the Zionist enemy has destroyed.
