Gold Prices Decline Amid Stronger Dollar and US-China Trade Optimism

Business

Sana'a: Gold prices experienced a decline, influenced by a strengthening dollar and indications of reduced trade tensions between the United States and China. This development comes as traders are also anticipating central bank meetings scheduled for later in the week.

According to Yemen News Agency, spot gold decreased by 0.5 percent, reaching $4,092.76 per ounce. Concurrently, US gold futures for December delivery saw a decline of 0.7 percent, dropping to $4,106.80 per ounce. The dollar's rise to its highest level in more than two weeks against the yen contributed to making gold more costly for investors using other currencies.

In the realm of other precious metals, spot silver experienced a slight fall of 0.3 percent, priced at $48.44 per ounce. Conversely, platinum saw an increase of 0.5 percent, reaching $1,612.95 per ounce, while palladium witnessed a modest rise of 0.2 percent, priced at $1,431.94.
