Gaza: The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) announced that it has engaged in discussions with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine - General Command regarding the proposal to create a broad national coalition. This coalition aims to include various factions, political forces, and independent national figures. The discussions also covered the escalating Zionist aggression in the Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank.
According to Yemen News Agency, Hossam Badran, head of Hamas's National Relations Office, conducted a phone conversation with Anwar Raja, the Deputy Secretary-General of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine - General Command. The two leaders addressed the serious developments concerning the ongoing Zionist aggression against the Palestinian people and its violation of commitments in Gaza, along with continuous attacks in the West Bank.
The discussions also focused on the preparations for the Palestinian Legislative Council elections and the proposal for a broad national coalition. The aim is to crystallize a common vision and enhance national partnership in the upcoming political and electoral entitlements.
The statement from Hamas highlighted that the coordination seeks to ensure the selection of people's representatives through a comprehensive and democratic electoral process, emphasizing the inherent right of the Palestinian people to exercise this process both at home and in the diaspora.
Both parties agreed to maintain communication and intensify bilateral meetings and factional consultations. This ongoing dialogue aims to reach a consensus on handling national and electoral responsibilities while enhancing Palestinian national partnership.
